About the Organization
The Swedish Childhood Cancer Found´s vision is to eradicate cancer in children. In having this goal for more than 30 years, today approximately 80% of children affected by cancer survive. So was not the case in the 70’s when the figure was a mere 20%. The Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund is the largest financial provider for child cancer research in Sweden – without any donations from the Government, municipal counties or the health service. Research can only continue thanks to the generous donations from the general public, companies and organizations. Each year, via hundreds of research projects, the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund finds new and better methods that can relieve and cure childhood cancer. Our hope is to solve the mystery of ‘childhood cancer’ one day.
Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund is there to help cushion the blow and uncertainty for families that are affected by childhood cancer. The Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund is constantly working to develop and improve the support and care it offers to such families both during and after treatment. The Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund helps to voice the opinions of those affected by childhood cancer in the community; the organization also works with schools and other forums to inform the public about childhood cancer and the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund does to fight it.
Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund is approved by the Swedish Fundraising Control which guarantees that the funds received are used for the correct purpose. Read more about the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund and how you can help on www.barncancerfonden.se
