Guppyfriend is a laundry bag that catches and prevents microplastics from your synthetic garments from ending up in our rivers and seas. The bag catches the extremely small fibers that are worn off in the laundry and prevent them from getting out into the marine ecosystem. The microplastics instead end up on the inside of the bag and can be picked up and recycled as plastic waste. Guppyfriend filters out 99% of all microfibers released from the clothes you wash.

How to use: Put your synthetic garments (1-3 pcs) in the bag and machine wash as usual. The microplastics that would otherwise have accompanied the water into our lakes and seas now stick to the inside of the bag. Empty the bag after washing.

A large part of the discharge comes from the wastewater from our washing machines when washing clothes made in part or 100% of synthetic material. When washing nylon, acrylic, polyester, and fleece, for example, up to thousands of fibers are detached from the garment, which until now have been difficult to catch and filter out.

Depending on what you are washing, it may take a couple of times before you find microfibers in the upper corners of your Guppyfriend. Remove the fibers and throw them in the household rubbish. It is important not to rinse out the bag because then microfibers follow into the water.
