Riedel’s champagne glass differs from other grape-specific glasses, as champagne is traditionally made from more than one grape variety. The glass highlights a specific beverage rather than a specific grape. The pointed base of the bowl creates a stream of bubbles inside the glass that almost resembles a pillar. This formation is not only beautiful to look at but also prolongs the “life” of the champagne. The wide mid-section of the bowl enhances the aromas of the drink, while the tapered opening concentrates the fragrance towards the nose. The opening also directs the liquid to the front part of the tongue, enhancing the perception of sweetness.

The glass was specially developed for Riedel’s 270th anniversary.
